Join the Field of Mystery Book Group for a lively discussion of our October book, Northern Spy, by Flynn Berry.  Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk.

Set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the present time, Northern Spy focuses on television producer and new mother, Tessa.  One day the IRA (still around and dangerous even after the Good Friday accords) robs a bank, and Tessa sees an image of her sister putting on a mask during the robbery.  She's sure her sister would never be involved with the IRA; aside from her sister's general attitude toward violence, her sister was on vacation somewhere else at the time of the robbery.  However, things are not as simple as Tessa hopes they are, and as she digs into the facts, she's confronted with questions of loyalty and her sense of right and wrong, and who she needs to protect the most.
