Field of Mystery Book Group

Saturday, August 6, 2022 - 10:30am to 12:00pm

The Field of Mystery Book Group will meet to discuss our August selection, The Book of Cold Cases, by Simone St. James.  Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

Forty years ago, the town of Claire Lake, Oregon, was the scene of two unsolved murders, two men killed with the same gun and with strange notes left behind.  Beth Greer was the obvious suspect, but she was tried and acquitted and went to live by herself in the family's mansion.  In 2017, Shea Collins works as a receptionist by day and runs a true crime website by night, trying to recover from her own attempted abduction when she was a child. She asks the infamous reclusive Beth Greer for an interview, and to her surprise, Greer agrees.  Thus begins a series of meetings at the Greer mansion, in which Shea increasingly wonders whether she's learning the truth about what happened in 1977 or being manipulated by a clever sociopath.

Join us for what promises to be an interesting discussion.  There will be coffee and refreshments available.
