Field Notes Book Group
The Field Notes Book Group will meet on Saturday, September 18, from 11 to 12:30 downstairs in the Program Room, to discuss our September book choice, Remember: The Science of Memory, the Art of Forgetting, by Lisa Genova. Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.
Genova, the author of the novel, Still Alice, is also a neurologist, and she brings both sides of her expertise to this book, an exploration of how our memory works and how it doesn't work. In an era when we're all understandably aware of and worried about the possibility of memory loss and Alzheimer's disease, having some scientific information about when forgetting is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about is especially important. Genova conveys the information in a lively, user-friendly way as you'd expect from a bestselling novelist.
Coffee and donuts will be provided, so don't forget to come and join us for what should be a fun discussion of memory and forgetting.
